Not usually. Most listings offer a self-play or duo option where you keep your own login and play alongside the booster, which removes almost all of the risk. Where a listing is piloted, it says so before you pay.

6% commission, taken only when an order completes. Cancelled and refunded orders are never charged, and sellers who complete more orders earn a lower rate.
